Xcel Team: Xcel is an introduction to team level, and competition. Gymnasts learn 1-3 routines and can perform routines in shows and participate in USA Gymnastics competitions. Xcel routines are evaluated and gymnasts receive scores and achievement awards. Xcel does not require as many hours of training as the Development Program. It is perfect for gymnasts who participate in a variety of other sports and activities, and therefore have less hours to devote to rhythmic gymnastics, but still want to be part of the rhythmic team.
Levels: Copper, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond, Platinum.
Development Team: The Development Program consists of Levels 3-8. Gymnasts progress through levels in numerical order, and compete in local, state, regional, and national competitions. Gymnasts from the Xcel Program may enter the Development Program in an appropriate level. Gymnasts are judged, scored, and ranked with gymnasts of the same age and level. Level 3-4 compete 2 individual routines. Level 5-8 compete 4 individual routines. The requirements for Development Program require a greater number of training hours to be successful in comparison to Xcel. Competition season January June.
Levels 3-8
